Top Ten Tips for Male Infertility

1. Step one is to improve your health generally – eat healthily, get plenty of sleep and keep hydrated. When your general health is good your sperm is more likely to be healthy.

2. Get your weight under control – being overweight or even underweight can affect estrogen and testosterone levels.A study in Denmark of 47,835 couples found that if both partners were obese, the couple were nearly three times more likely to have to wait more than a year to become pregnant than for a couple in a healthy weight range.

3. There are Multi Vitamin and Mineral Supplements that have been especially tailored for fertility assistance. Fish Oil supplements with Omega-3 Fatty Acids are also known to strengthen your reproductive system and sperm.

4. Quit smoking! – smoking and pregnancy do not go together. Smoking not only affects your sperm count but also sperm mobility. Your chances of conceiving a child increase significantly if you both give up smoking.

5. Do not allow your scrotum to become overheated – be careful to wear loose fitting underwear and do not indulge in long sessions in the sauna or Jacuzzi.

6. Stress can be a big problem - Meditation tapes are a useful way to calm things down – stress can be a cause of infertility as it affects your hormone levels.

7. Recreational drugs or alcohol are a big no no when you are trying to conceive a child.

8. Steroids too should be avoided – they can cause testicular shrinkage. For more details about male fertility and steroids read more here.
